BALLET BC

I had the pleasure of being hand picked by New York composer/guitarist John King to play his score for solo electric guitar and laptop for Ballet BC’s Vancouver performances of Face to Face.  The piece was choreographed by Ballet Manheim’s Kevin O’Day, and we did an uber successful run of shows at The Queen Elizabeth Theatre in November, 2010.  John was a sweetheart and absolutely everyone involved with Ballet BC was amazing to work with, from Artistic Director Emily Molnar and all of the admin/tech staff, through each and every dancer in the company.  Such an inspiring, dedicated and lovely crew!  The performances landed to rave reviews, I was treated smashingly well as featured musical soloist, and I was also lucky enough to be introduced to the Banff Centre for the Arts while we workshopped the piece in July 2010.  A really great experience it was, and the company and I are hopeful that we’ll get the chance to do another project together soon.

In the meantime, BBC deserves your support – they’re successfully making contemporary ballet and reinventing the best ballet company in all of Western Canada.
