Three Short Lovesongs For Brass and Woodwind Octet – Cling/Oh Good, A Danish/Your Love Is What Keeps Me Sane (2004)

I wrote a series of small works exploring the aesthetic of stark, unapologetic music, and orchestrated these pieces for a brass and woodwind octet consisting of 3 trumpets, French horn, trombone, clarinet, alto saxophone and tenor saxophone. I’m very interested in creating sonic worlds where the idea of what is beautiful can be drastically altered, and where silence can be employed as both a tool of reprieve and one of gripping discomfort.
